One month until the Mississippi headwaters.

Well here we are.

Or, rather, here I am.

50% of the expedition crew has yet to arrive in the United States. Will is still somewhere in Sweden mechanically engineering things. Roughly one month until the Swedish counterpart to this adventure arrives here in the Bluegrass State and we commence our trip to the headwaters of the Mississippi River.

With about a years worth of planning, it is quite surreal that things have been shifting from being ideas and plans, into a sort of reality. It is as exciting as it is casually nerv-racking.

To have things begin to shift from research, planning and staring at maps towards actually having the gear and counting the days till we hit the headwaters is an exciting thing to have unfold. These last months have been slowly moving along it seems, but as Will and I finish up our semesters of school, and are fixing to graduate, the days seem to be moving with a much quicker pace.

While there certainly is enough to keep us occupied and out of trouble with finishing school, this trip has turned into a sort of amusing diversion from the everyday schedule we have been surrounded with. I quite like that.

I should think of some clever ending for these blog posts. Something clever and anecdotal. That should do just the trick. I am sure we shall have many interesting encounters in our near future. Most likely there will be a few tales to mention.
